Hello Hornets! My name is Brandee Burns and this is my third year serving as the school librarian at Monteagle Elementary. Prior to coming to MES, I worked as the school librarian at Jasper Middle School as well as teaching 6th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies at Tracy City Elementary. I graduated from Western Governors University in 2019 with my bachelor's degree in Science Education. I went on to pursue my master's degree in Library and Information Science from Trevecca Nazarene University graduating in 2021.
Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family, especially my son Noah who is a seventh grader at Monteagle Elementary. We have two pets at home who we love dearly, our dog Gizmo and our cat Newt. Unsurprisingly, my favorite hobby is reading, and this fueled my desire to become a teacher and eventually a librarian. My goal is to inspire my students to love reading as much as I do.
