Mika Harris

Hello!  My name is Mika Harris.  I am the K-8 Exceptional Education Lead Teacher.  I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education Modified K-8 in 1994, my Master’s Degree in Beginning Administrator K-12 in 1998, and my Degree in Elementary Education K-6 in 2006.  During my 29 years of teaching, I taught at Tracy City Elementary for 13 years where I was a special education teacher for 12 years and a 5th/6th grade regular education teacher in ELA for one  year.  I have been at Monteagle Elementary for 17 years where I was a 1st grade regular education teacher for 8 years and a special education teacher for 9 years.

My husband’s name is Jimmy Harris and we have three children: Mikaylee Jackson, Mikenna Harris, Ben Harris, Hope Nunley, Rhyan Harris, and Jeremiah Harris.  We have four grandchildren: Stormi, Remington, Rugar, and Ryleigh.  We attend Myers Hill Church in Tracy City where I am the Primary Sunday School Teacher, slideshow creator and presenter for VBS, Christmas Memorial, and Senior Night, photographer, and help manage the church Facebook page.

I love spending time with my family by going to church, taking our pontoon boat to the lake, and vacationing at the beach.  I also enjoy gardening, working in the yard, burning leaves, hiking, and just being outside.  My favorite drink is Sundrop and my favorite food is pizza.  I am looking forward to another great year!  Thank you for sharing your children with me!
