Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Monteagle Elementary. I am honored to have the opportunity to become a member of this great school and community! I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than fourteen years. I have worked with a variety of students ranging in age from Pre-K to ninth. My most recent administrative experience was serving as the Assistant Principal of Jasper Middle School. As the parent of a blended family with one daughter age 18, five boys ages 15, 16, 17, 19, and 22 and two beautiful granddaughters ages 9 and 4, I recognize the importance of a strong home and school connection. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as we work together to continue the legacy of success at Monteagle Elementary.

Along with the faculty and staff, my goal is to continue the excellence of success established by Monteagle Elementary by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners. We will focus on decreasing absenteeism, increasing English Language Arts and Math scores, providing character education incentives, building critical thinking skills, using data to drive instruction and providing consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase all students’ achievement while promoting success for all of them.

All of us at Monteagle Elementary are excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year. This year will be an exciting year for all. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents are excited to be here. This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment and develop a positive school climate. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet. If I am not available, I will be happy to return your call as soon as possible.

To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! I hope that you are excited for this coming school year and that you are out this summer playing and reading tons of books with your family and friends. We will be having registration and open house on Thursday, August 8th, 4:00-7:00 p.m. The Tools for School event will also be held at the same time. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Warm Regards,

Veronica Rogers-Horton
